Knitter good-will mission to Liverpool

First of all Happy (belated) Mothers day to all you Mom's out there! I hope you were spoiled rotten on Sunday... and every day!

For Mothers Day, Dave and I headed down to Liverpool for the weekend to see his parents. It was a nice trip, even though it was raining the whole time and there was no good weather to speak of. At least it wasn't snowing...

So, while I was down in Liverpool I was able to meet some local knitters! Through the amazing wonders of Ravelry I was able to meet Marti and NovaKnitter. We had a lovely Sunday morning at Tim Hortons chatting about knitting, dogs, knitting and getting to know each other. It is so funny because I would never have gone out and met someone I just met on the Internet before. Since they were knitters though, I was excited to meet them. I wanted to see what the knitting scene in Liverpool was like. I must admit it felt like a knitting good will mission; to connect with the knitters in surrounding areas and to acquire new knitting alliances. For the day when the knitters attack and take over the world with our sharp pointy sticks and knitted handcuffs. Muahahahaha... ahem... sorry about that, I guess I got just a little carried away... Anyhoo... It was really nice to meet them both and I am hoping they will make it down for our WWKIP so you can all meet them. They were both lots of fun and amazing knitters!

Now an update on my knitting news...

Latoya is now almost complete! I have the final strap and seaming to get done. I am going to finish it by tonight so I can wear it to KOL. Must finish now... must knit... It shouldn't be that much of a problem since I am so close to being done.

Then there is Jaywalker... oh Jay, my first sock. Such pretty yarn, such a disappointment. He doesn't fit me. He is too skinny to fit over my heel. I am not happy about this. Because of my disappointment in myself I have been taking it out on Jay. I have been neglecting him to knit Latoya, who has been quite sweet and nice to me. It's not his fault though, I have to remember that this is just the way he is. I will finish him anyways, and hopefully find a nice young girl to give him to. I will not give up on him... not yet anyways.

I had the same problem with the Jaywalker. It's not a very forgiving pattern.
