As promised...

So, I mentioned in my last post that I would put up some pictures of my knitting, and maybe even do some knit blogging... here I am, as promised.

I have a problem. Baby socks. They are so darned cute and I just can't seem to stop knitting them! All I want is to make more of the iddy biddy sockies to fit on little baby toesies (voice gets squeaky and eyes all squinty with all the cute)

My baby sock obsession started with this pair...

They were knit using the newborn baby pattern on Ravelry and using a sample of Opal that was donated for the WWKIP event. There wasn't much yarn, and I just made it through the pattern.

Look at how teeny and cute they are!!!

After those were done I just had to make more! So I grabbed some left over Mirasol Yarn Hacho that I still had from some previous baby knits, and started on the Ruffle Rib socks. I changed the pattern so it was a little smaller, as my yarn was thicker and I was using a larger needle gauge. They turned out perfect.

They were so quick! It took me less than a day for each sock! At this rate I will have over 50 pairs by the time the baby arrives...

Over the long weekend I started another pair. (I think I mentioned that I may have an issue...) This time it was the Chevron Lace socks from the same group of patterns as the Ruffle Rib. This time I decided to use my Knit Picks Felici yarn. Yes, that means the the infamous Jaywalker socks are no more. I finally gave up and they became this...

They are a fair bit bigger than the other two pairs of socks but I am really happy with how they look. I think that the self striping sock yarn works perfectly with the small lace pattern on the sock. And I was really lucky to have the lace match perfectly with the stripes... Hopefully the second will look as good. I am really happy with this new incarnation of my stress full Jaywalker socks.

One thing I would like to mention about this Chevron lace pattern is that the cuff sucks to do. It is doubled over so that you have to pick up your CO stitches to make a cute thick cuff. It's a nice finished look, but does it ever take a long time to do!! I'm glad I was only making baby socks because any more than 44 stitches to pick up would suck. Maybe it will be better the second time around...

Here is my finally cute picture of the different sizes of my socks. They are growing! lol. I am so excited for more baby knits! I am planning to working my way through my stash... Maybe I'll make something else for me too... but we'll see. I already have more sock ideas to knit.

I am crazy about this cute pattern on Ravelry by Annypurls*, called Flakey baby socks.

Don't they just look perfect for a winter baby with a mommie that loves knitting socks...

*Just a quick note... I have to add that Annypurls has the CUTEST baby patterns ever! Come on just look at this, a cute baby sweater with a pocket for a knit mouse!!!

...ok so, being pregnant may be overloading my mind with cute...

Little socks ARE so cute.

But, yeah, the pregnancy brain is probably contributing to the squeaky voice :)
