An update, with pictures

So, what what have I been up to here in Winnipeg? There has been lots of hanging out with my family, showing Ella around town, relaxing in the sun and taking the dogs out for walks. It has been really nice to just relax and see everyone. (Though I must say I miss my baby play dates and knit nights...)

First thing when we arrived my dad got to meet Ella. He was so excited to meet his first grandchild for the first time. Ella was a little less excited unfortunately since she was so tired from the plane ride.

She was really excited about the flash on the camera though... Or was that just surprised...

It was so nice to see dad's face light up when he met her. He is completely smitten with her. Ella now likes her new grandpa and likes playing with his bald head. She also loves the way he talks with his hands. Every time dad gets excited and into a conversation she stares at him and can't stop smiling and giggling. Unfortunately this distracts dad so he never is able to finish his conversation.

Since we got here it has been hot hot hot! It hit over 30 degrees Celsius a couple days in a row. Since it was so hot there wasn't much moving going on. We spent a lot of time just sitting around trying to avoid the full force of the sun. There was also lots of hanging out with my brothers and cousins. We all crowd onto the deck in the front and lay around, chatting and relaxing.

Ella has been getting to know my dad's dog, Brie and having lots of fun playing outside in the sun.

Maya has been having a hard time with all the heat. Poor black dog in the sun.

With all this relaxing I have even been able to get some knitting done. I made Topaz for Ella with Blue Sky Alpacas organic cotton. It turned out really cute. It was a bit shorter than I anticipated, but it will be perfect for the warm weather or a tank top later. I think it might need a matching diaper cover...

Isn't it cute!

I have also been working on a couple pairs of socks and Lu. I even started working on Socktopus yesterday. Maybe I'll even finish another project, that is if I can stick to one long enough...

I will post again soon about more Winnipeg fun.
