A post from the 'Peg

Here I am posting from the wonderfully flat city of Winnipeg. I got to go home for a whole month! It is so nice to be able to see the whole family again.

We arrived here on Wednesday of last week on the 17th. The 5 hour flight was actually really nice. I was quite stressed about Ella and Maya. It was their first time flying and I was worried about how they would take it. Ella was amazing! She didn't cry at except when she was hungry or tired, and even then it was just a little whining, not that bad at all. I was so proud of her. I even got some knitting in!

Then there was Maya. I was really worried about her. Since she was from the SPCA new situations can really freak her out. First she was terrified of her kennel so we spent all month prior to leaving getting her used to it. We put a comfy pad in it with one of her blankets, then we would coax her in with treats daily. She soon decided it wasn't so bad. Even though she was ok with that I was worried about all the noise and strange men. I didn't need to worry, she was great! Though, she sure was happy to get out of the crate and see us!

Now we are at my dad's in the city. Dad got to meet his granddaughter for the first time. He was so excited and it was so wonderful to see.

Since we have arrived our time has been spent relaxing in the ridiculous heat, and trying to escape the ridiculous heat and visiting. It is so nice to just be able to relax with the family.
