So, It looks like I have already moved on to another pattern. I had to put Center Square away for a couple days. I think it just needed a time out, or rather, I needed to clear my head. I wasn't in the best mood this weekend and trying the double knit for the first time was just too much to handle. I have been too stressed about trying to get into school and out of my annoying job lately. It has been getting me down. Trying something new was just making me feel way too stressed. Though I don't want to take it out on the pattern. *nice pattern* I will have to try again tonight as I am feeling a little better.
In any case I cleared my head with the sweater kit, Jo by Perl Grey. http://www.perlgrey.com/knitting_jo.html . On the weekend when I went to the knitting store to get yarn for Center Square, I was distracted by this yarn. So soft, so pretty, and a sweater... I was looking for a good first sweater pattern. It didn't help the fact that I had admired it on Frozen Extremities a while ago. ( http://frozenextremities.blogspot.com/ ) It seems like a fairly simple design with a cool sideways knit. So I had to get it. I've just started it and almost done the front panel. It is nice and simple. Relaxing even. Also my knitting ADD is placated by the wonderfully changing colors...
Tonight I am alone, Dave is on duty overnight on the ship, this should give me a good chance to get a lot of knitting done. I will have to try again with Center Square. (Now that I am so relaxed from Jo.) I'll sit around with the Internet and all the tutorials I can find, with calming TV or music to distract me. Hopefully I can conquer the double knit yet...

It took me about 6 years to get around to anything involving colourwork. I wouldn't sweat it :)
Woo, I love the Jo. What colour(s) did you get?
Knitting should be fun. Challenge is nice sometimes, but not when it makes you want to flush the yarn down the toilet.
I can't wait to see how that Jo knits up. It's such a great pattern.
I ended up taking a course on Fair Isle when I decided to tackle it, I can show you the trick to keeping your tension good.
